Arriving to Madikela was a nice and easy drive North from Johannesburg. We can’t believe how beautiful and pleasant this place is! Check in was easy and straightforward. Our drive back to the chalet was quite exciting. We saw Wildebeest, Giraffe, and some Zebras as well as multiple species of birds! An exciting first game drive and we hadn’t even made it to the chalet yet. The chalet was very clean and comfortable. Good water pressure in the shower and provided a great connection to the bush. We haven’t slept this good in a long time! We travel all over Africa and can honestly say that Madikela is one of our favorites stays. The owners are very accommodating and the staff pays close attention to the rooms. You can tell that they love this place as much as we do. Check out the dam with an elevated hide for viewing the wildlife and to enjoy a nice steady breeze. If you’re looking for a place to stay, explore and even serve as a base for seeing other sites in the Waterberg area then this is a great destination. We highly recommend!
